Britannia Allied Industries is VIMA's First African Installation and Represents Installations in all Continents (except Antartica)

"Well, there are some business or research operations in Antartica -- Nevertheless, we consider this installation to be an important milestone."

Santa Barbara, CA - January 31st, 2006 - VIMA Technologies announced today that Britannia Allied Industries, Ltd of Kampala, Uganda began using VIMA’s ImageFilter™ as part of their recent installation of SafeSquid™ Content Filtering Internet Proxy from Office Efficiencies, Ltd of Mumbai, India.

"We’re delighted to have Britannia Allied Industries join our growing list of users who rely on ImageFilter to block objectionable images. We now have clients and users on six continents which we consider a full-house," announced David Telleen-Lawton, VIMA’s CEO.

VIMA’s ImageFilter™ for Objectionable Images is the industry leading image categorization software in terms of accuracy and speed. It allows VIMA clients to add a score based on the image contents to their existing classification process which is commonly text-based. As images proliferate and spammers get adept at avoiding text-based filters, ImageFilter™ score images based on their likelihood of being objectionable with accuracy exceeding 90% in many cases. With the advent of cameraphones and other mobile devices, being able to categorize images that carry sparse textual clues is increasingly important, according to Telleen-Lawton.
