MailGuard Adds to Their Best of Breed Offerings with the Addition of VIMA’s ImageFilter™ to Stop Objectionable
Images From Reaching Your Computer
"MailGuard performed its evaluation by testing real emails from real businesses...VIMA came out on top
in meeting our accuracy, performance, and best of breed filtering needs."
Santa Barbara, CA - June 30th, 2005
- VIMA Technologies announced today that the Australian company, MailGuard Pty Limited,
is the latest eMail and Web security company to sign an agreement to incorporate VIMA’s ImageFilter™
objectionable image classifier to stop pornography from reaching the desktop. VIMA uses the latest machine-learning
technology to classify image content to protect families and employees from objectionable images. MailGuard is
a market leader of outsourced email anti-virus, anti-spam, and content filtering solutions for the business market.
It provides those services for companies such as the Australian Football League, Porsche Cars, and Fuji Film.
"The engineers at MailGuard knew what they wanted and were easy
to work with during the evaluation phase. We’ve always received the highest marks on accuracy and performance, and
testing in their environment proved to be no different. They are an aggressive organization with big plans and we’re
delighted to be a part of that growth", declared David Telleen-Lawton, VIMA CEO & President.
"MailGuard performed its evaluation by testing real emails from
real businesses experiencing problems with managing objectionable images. We needed a solution that would not only accurately
identify objectionable or pornographic images within workplace email, but also to achieve this quickly enough not to impact
on our global filtering network," said Andrew Johnson, MailGuard’s Marketing Director. "Ultimately, VIMA came out
on top in meeting our accuracy, performance, and best of breed filtering needs."
MailGuard expects to begin offering image filtering to their clients
in August, 2005.
