VIMA Technologies’ Unique Visual Search Hailed as Next Major Change in Image Search

Industry expert is “most intrigued” by VIMA’s unique approach and accuracy.

Santa Barbara, CA July 1st, 2004 - VIMA Technologies announced today the availability of the Selling Stock newsletter article titled, “Visual Search”, which highlights VIMA’s active-learning visual search solutions and declares, “The stock photo industry is on the verge of the next major change in the way images are searched and found online.”

Selling Stock is the bi-weekly subscription newsletter edited by Jim Pickerell, long-time stock photo industry participant, leader, and observer.

“We certainly appreciated Jim’s positive review of what we are doing”, added David Telleen-Lawton, CEO and President of VIMA, “but it’s even more satisfying when he independently declares how unique our solution is and how it is likely to create a major change in the way images are searched.  Coming from such a highly regarded participant and observer of the industry, we are confident when we repeat his claims with customers and prospective customers.”

The lead article in the June 21st Selling Stock newsletter was repeated as the lead article in the quarterly hard-copy article round-up sent to subscribers in early July.  Among other author observations, Jim writes, “This [VIMA’s] “adaptive learning” process uses positive and negative feedback in a quick, intuitive manner to zero in on the best matching images faster than is possible with scrolling or text searching.  Using this unique approach, every image searcher molds their search process and the results to reflect their individual and cultural idiosyncrasies.”

VIMA has made a copy of this article available on their website at www.VIMAtech.com.
