VIMA Technologies, Inc. Announces Whit Gaither Vice President of Business Development

Santa Barbara, CA - December 1, 2003 - VIMA Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of image recognition solutions, announced that it has hired Whit Gaither as vice president of business development. Gaither will lead VIMA's efforts to identify and develop profitable market segments across industries that rely on image filtering, image searching, and image matching.

Initially he is focusing on developing new business for VIMA's image filtering solutions for the enterprise content security, SPAM, and web filtering markets. Special emphasis is on extending VIMA's success in these markets, influencing product feature planning, and further developing collateral that help communicate VIMA solution benefits.

"Whit's experience is an important element in our organizational and revenue growth", says David Telleen-Lawton, President and CEO of VIMA. "His creativity and drive will help us substantially increase sales in this emerging market. Image filtering is becoming a key component in the battle against objectionable content as well as corporate security of images for copyright and competitive reasons."

Gaither has 15 years experience in sales and operations. As a founding team member of two software companies (including one subsidiary of Intel Corporation), Whit has been instrumental in identifying and developing new markets, creating sound operating strategies, and helping to shape product planning.

"The opportunity to lead VIMA's deployment in the image filtering market is extremely exciting and timely", says Gaither. "Protection from objectionable content and SPAM is one of the fastest growing concerns in the marketplace and VIMA has the answer. Current solutions fall short, they focus on text and pre-screened URL lists while VIMA takes filtering to the next level: we look at the actual images."
